Description
Bulgur/Bulgar Wheat
Bulgur is a cereal food made from the cracked parboiled (partially precooked) groats of several different wheat species, most often from durum wheat. It originates in Middle Eastern cuisine. It’s a whole wheat grain and because it is partially precooked it can be prepared relatively quickly. When cooked, it has a similar consistency to couscous or quinoa and it’s terrific in all sorts of side dishes, soup, pilafs, casseroles, and salads (grain salads, and it can also be added to green salads). Because Bulgur Wheat cooks so fast it is also known as “Healthy 2 Minute Noodles”.
Cooking Instructions:
1 Part Bulgur Wheat to 2 Parts boiling water. Add salt or spices. Cook on stove until all the water is absorbed.
