Mung Beans
The mung bean, otherwise known as green gram, maash, moong, monggo, or munggo, is a legume cultivated mainly in East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent. It is used as an ingredient in both savoury and sweet dishes in cuisines across Asia.
Mung beans can also be sprouted by leaving them in water for 4 hours and keeping them in a dark place for the rest of the day.
Mung beans contain 7 grams of protein per 100gram of cooked beans and is a rich source of Folate (B9).
